10% Off iTunes

Amazon mp3 store offers a la carte, MP3 music downloads just like iTunes with over 2 million songs from more than 180,000 artists represented by over 20,000 major and independent labels. Long story short: It's basically Amazon's version of iTunes.com.

Amazon MP3 songs and albums are "DRM-Free" - meaning there is no imposed "digital rights management" copy protection. This means that you can use the songs you buy and download on any hardware device, organize their music using any music management application, and burn songs to CDs unlimited number of times.

The bulk of the songs are priced from 89 cents - in fact, over 1 million songs in the catalog are $0.89 each including the top 100 best-selling songs.

Albums are priced from $5.99 to $9.99. The top 100 best-selling albums are $8.99 or less, unless marked otherwise.

This just means that you can get the same songs, but 10% off iTunes.com pricing -- and they don't come with copy-restrictions like on iTunes.

Free Songs & Videos From Apple iTunes

$0.99/song is really cheap. . .

. . .Although you can get the same exact mp3 downloads for $0.33 or less actually from other online stores that work with any iPod too as discussed on sites like web tips blog essistme.com.

But just like anything else online, it's much smarter to find the appropricte coupon codes and deals when you're about to buy anthing from an online merchant.

Now, what if you could download free songs & videos from Apple iTunes?

Did you know there's an entire category called "Free on iTunes"? There's selections of free mp3 songs and albums you can download.

There's more Apple iTunes Deals that won't cost you anything to download -- like over
500 Free Videos to download as well on iTunes. . .

Or a new category called iTunes U with premier content from the leading educational universities and educational institutions. I just downloaded and watched a Stanford video of Guy Kowasaki going over the top 3 reasons to start a new venture.

$0.99 downloads are a deal, but $0.00 downloads are even better!

Where is the Amazon mp3 Music Download Service?

Yesterday's Wall Street Journal article really caught my eye. The article, "Music ServiceFrom AmazonTakes On iTunes" covered the hype over the iTunes killer announced by Amazon this week. There were rumblings that Jeff Bezos was courting the music industry several months ago, trying to piece together this ultimate business model - selling digital content that millions of iPod users could use - mp3 music downloads. mp3's are the perfect product - no inventory, immediate revenue, easy fulfillment, unlimited stock of each product, small file sizes which translate to fast downloads and a great user experience.

Hype can be hype, so I tried to see for myself if Amazon really has a chance over Apple's iTunes.com, but I couldn't find it at all.

Where is Amazon's mp3 Music Download Service you ask? The answer: they "PLAN" to do it, it's not available yet! That's now "news," that's the future! What about now? today?

Here's some things that are relevant to you TODAY:

  • Amazon "announced it" not "opened the store to the public": Every song and album in the Amazon.com digital music store will eventually be available exclusively in the MP3 format without digital rights management (DRM) software. But NO date is set for this service. It's a PLANNED service, not a reality yet!

  • Amazon.com Does Offers Free Music Downloads TODAY: Don't be fooled by the limited offerings on the "Free Music Downloads" page. USE THE SEARCH FEATURE to find music tracks you can download. TIP: search for category of music (jazz, christian, rock, etc) or artist or keywords (like instruments, genre, etc).

  • As the WSJ states, just like Amazon's announced service, "eMusic sells only MP3s that are almost universally playable" which means any iPod and all other mp3 players. By the way, eMusic has the largest number of subscribers for it's type of online music service.

  • The Wall Street Journal also pointed out that "eMusic. . .can work out to as little as 25 cents a song". If you want to save as much as 75% off Apple's prices for mp3 songs with less restrictions than iTunes yet can still be used with iPods, try eMusic.

  • eMusic gives you free credits for your choice of 25 free mp3 songs to download immediately.

Just like the old commercial shouting the urgency, "I want my MTV!". I want my MP3...TODAY, not next year.

How To Add Any Song You Have As A Ringtone On Your Blackberry Cell Phone

Ringtones aren't just for teens anymore. If you have a Blackberry, you can customize the ring to any song or audio file you want. Anyone with a Blackberry Pearl, 8800, 8700, 7100, 7130, etc. can now customize their ringtones instantly. There's a couple of different ways to do it, but for those that just want the easy way out, there's a service that's as easy as 1-2-3.

You just email any song file format (in any format - mp3, windows media, Real Player, wav, iTunes, etc) you have it in and after account verification, it automatically converts the file and sends it back to your email address on your Blackberry. Now you really are going to call it your Crackberry, huh?

Why is this solution easy?

  • If you can send an email (which we KNOW you can do if you own a Blackberry!), you can get a custom ringtone for your Blackberry.

  • No hardware, cables, syncing hassles.

  • No software to install

  • You are not limited to a ringtone catalog from a service

  • You don't have to use the latest hip-hop, rap, Top 40 song (YES! screams the older readers right now)

  • You can take ANY song from your current CD or iTunes library

  • You can convert unlimited # of songs to ringtones so you can switch them out later

  • Anyone can use it

  • Available for all Blackberries on all carriers except Nextel. It works on Verizon, Cingular / AT&T Wireless, T-Mobile, Boost, Virgin Wireless, etc.

  • It's NOT a subscription service. It's a ONE-TIME purchase for unlimited use.

How do you get it? First, you need a Blackberry Pearl, Blackberry 8800 series, Blackberry 8700 series, Blackberry 7100 series, Blackberry 7130 series phone. Next, you just buy the service and checkout the details of the Blackberry Ringtone conversion service here.
