Printable Coupon for Staples & Office Depot

Once in awhile, Staples will put out a 12% Coupon that applies to most products in their store. It's a time to go shopping for office supplies that you regularly need when these come out.

One small tip is that competitors usually take the Staples 12% Coupon and apply it -- even on sale items featured that week in ads -- at OfficeMax and Office Depot.

Another tip is that since it's a printable coupon, you can print multiple copies and use it on multiple trips to Staples, Office Depot or other local office supply stores.

10% Off iTunes

Amazon mp3 store offers a la carte, MP3 music downloads just like iTunes with over 2 million songs from more than 180,000 artists represented by over 20,000 major and independent labels. Long story short: It's basically Amazon's version of iTunes.com.

Amazon MP3 songs and albums are "DRM-Free" - meaning there is no imposed "digital rights management" copy protection. This means that you can use the songs you buy and download on any hardware device, organize their music using any music management application, and burn songs to CDs unlimited number of times.

The bulk of the songs are priced from 89 cents - in fact, over 1 million songs in the catalog are $0.89 each including the top 100 best-selling songs.

Albums are priced from $5.99 to $9.99. The top 100 best-selling albums are $8.99 or less, unless marked otherwise.

This just means that you can get the same songs, but 10% off iTunes.com pricing -- and they don't come with copy-restrictions like on iTunes.

Christmas Season Officially Started October 17, 2007

Yes, this is now the official start of the Christmas Holiday Season. October 17, 2007.

Today, the Picture People sent out the first Christmas promotional offer I've seen so far. It's for a free portrait sitting with a free 8x10 or 10x13 print.

Halloween isn't even here yet! -- which is supposedly the #1 digital photo upload holiday of the year. More people take photos on Halloween and then upload them to Snapfish, Ofoto, Kodak Gallery, etc than any other holiday of the year.

More competitors enter...

More competitors enter the ring. Recently we talked about using competitive coupons between Bed Bath & Beyond stores and Linen and Things stores but there is another store that we just found out about that takes these two stores coupons, it's Haron Discount Supply stores.
Harmon sells a lot of things that are not just purely beauty products. It's one place where you can pick up a lot of the "essentials" -- stuff that the other 2 stores don't sell at a steep discount. Now you can get it for even less!

Friday

Gotta love the competition,...

Gotta love the competition, we're headed out to Bed Bath and Beyond to pickup a couple of things for the house but we don't seem to have one of those ubiquitous 20% off Bed Bath and Beyond coupons at the moment.

But never fear competition is here!

Bed Bath and Beyond takes Linens & Things coupons and vice versa. Don't forget this when you go .

Also a little known policy: Bed Bath and Beyond will give you back the 20% post-purchase. Just bring your receipt back with a coupon and they'll re-ring the purchase and give you your coupon's discount!

Good new. Bad news....

Good news: I ordered the Wall Street Journal newspaper online the other day from www.getwallstreetjournal.com and its already being delivered.

Bad news: It has been raining cats and dogs. . . A tornado was even reported off the coast of Long Island yesterday and all this means that my paper is drenched at the end of my drive way.

But I called the Wall Street Journal and they re-delivered a new paper within hours. I guess thats good news about news in a way.

HD Tivo on Sale with Free Shipping

Ok, now's the time to finally pick up your very own HD Tivo for $249.

Normally $299 or more, this is a great deal, and Amazon throws in free shipping.

What's so great about the HD features on the new HD Tivo boxes?

Here's some details of TiVo HD Features:

Search for HD movies and sports: With our intelligent search features, you can easily find a specific director, actor, player, or team among the world of both broadcast and broadband content. Prefer to see a movie in high definition? Do a WishListTM search and the TiVo service will automatically record the HD version and place it in your Now Playing List.

Record movies in HD: When recording with TiVo HD, you have the option of capturing shows in standard or high definition. Plus, when you play them back, you can easily pause or rewind HD instant replays without ever sacrificing their original razor-sharp HD resolution.

And here's some really neat features that are worth learning when you do get your own Tivo:

Download movies from the Internet: Don't see any great movies in your cable program guide? You can easily select a classic or new release from the world's largest movie library, order them with a click of your remote control, and have them downloaded directly to your TiVo box.

Access your music library with the remote: When you connect your TiVo DVR to your home network, your HDTV can connect right to millions of songs and playlists available over the Internet. You can now enjoy digital music on the best sound system in the house.

Schedule an HD premiere: With TiVo, you can do your TV scheduling from any computer when you are away from home. Log onto TiVo.com, click on a show, and you're done.

Amazon sells a bunch of Tivo HD Recorders that you may be interested in. But the $249 deal is a sweet deal.

Membership really has it's priviledges. . .

It really pays to belong!
We were in the mall this week and went into the Metropolitan Museum of Art Gift Store. And guess what we found out at the register from a very friendly employee.
If you have a membership to the Met Museum or if your company that you work for is benefactor of the Met Museum in New York City, then you are eligible to get 10% off of all the purchases at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Gift Store, even if its not at the Museum physically, but in the Met Store in the mall.
We recently used that 10% discount and got over $10 off our purchase on various items we found on sale. Getting that extra 10% off was the cherry on top!

The Costco Lifestyle....

The Costco Lifestyle: It seems that everyone American is a member of either Costco Sams Club BJ's or some of the Warehouse House Club.
As you go to buy the tons of oversized packs of anything and everything in your cart, don't forget that Costco offers a lifetime money back guarantee on pretty much everything you buy there.
Today, a woman in front of me at customer service wanted to return something from three years ago and didn't have a receipt. Buy guess what? They just looked up the purchase using the credit card she used and gave her money back no questions asked. Wow. Another reason to keep shopping at Costco!

How To Get The iPhone at a Discount...

Don't throw out your discount shopping mentality when buying an iPhone!
Yes, Steve Jobs slashed prices for the iPhone across the board for Christmas sales, but that's still the "retail price" -- the price that everyone else on the street has to pay. I'm talking about discounts meaning, that you pay less than the average Joe in line behind you.
While Apple does not discount Apple iPhone at it's retail stores nor at any other authorized retailers nor AT&T Wireless stores, there are in fact ways of getting a the iPhone for less than the full published retail price if you really look.
Sites like www.essistme.com give you tips on how to get the Apple iPhone for as low as $274. There are ways of getting discounts even when there are seemingly none!
Don't ever give up! Never has an apple been so sweet! :-)

I love my GPS. Recently,...

I love my GPS. Recently, I bought a Mio Digi Walker 210 model GPS and the feature that I love the most about it is being able to find points of interest right around where you are currently.
For example yesterday, we were with friends and we wanted to go out for ice cream. With the GPS device, we found a Baskin-Robbins ice cream store within a mile and a half from where we were, never ever before would we have been able to do that.

What a bunch of geeks

What a bunch of geeks! Best Buy has a tech support service called GeekSquad.
I recently brought in my HP printer to have fixed. They have to send it to their shipping service center to get it diagnosed, however he is the catch. If I want to authorize the repair at that point that's great, they will tell me how much it costs. If I don't, I have to pay shipping for it back plus a service fee for the diagnosis estimate. And this is the part that is frustrating -- They can't tell me what that fee will be nor can they call the service center to find out ahead a time!
Would it be $20 + shipping back? $100 + shipping back? more? They have no clue, and they refuse to escalate the issue to find out. So basically I have to blindly give them the printer without having an inkling about what this will cost me.
