Legoland Discount Admission Tickets (Carlsbad, CA)

Legoland is one of the better known amusement parks in the Southern California - San Diego area. Any kid on this planet knows what Legos are and their imaginations can just run wild thinking about spending a couple of days at LEGOLAND!

We are currently on vacation and have been to Legoland the last 2 days of our trip. But of course, there's got to be a way to get in the gates for less than $212/day for a family of 4!

REGULAR ADMISSION TICKET PRICING FOR LEGOLAND CALIFORNIA

ADULT 1 Day Admission: $57 2 Day=$69

CHILD 1 Day Admission: $44 2 Day=$56

(Parking $10/day)

Before we left for our trip we found an unbelievable exclusive discount to the theme park for both adults and kids. And it was available from the place that we always think of for getting cheap prices, but just not for things like tickets usually -- COSTCO!

Yes, that's right, if you go to the online site, and do a search for "legoland", you'll find discounted tickets available for 1-day tickets. But the real treasure is an exclusive online discount to the Legoland California amusement park -- for LESS than the price of a regular 1-day admission ticket, you can get a 3-month unlimited season pass! Which means two things:
  1. Even if you go for just 1 day, this discount will save you money!
  2. You can go to Legoland as many times as you want on your vacation without thinking about cost! Try it for 1 day, and if you like it, go back!

LEGOLAND DISCOUNT - 3 MONTH UNLIMITED PASS

ADULT 3-month Season Pass = $48.49

CHILD 3-month Season Pass = $38.99

Although 2 days was more than enough for our kids, this deal is must-buy for any visit to Legoland.

The Legoland park map looks like a huge park with a gazillion things to do at first glance, but after studying the map a little more after you start to stroll the park, it's not a huge amusement park. You'll find a couple of decent rides for most kids, and some very cool Lego creations like a mini-Las Vegas, New York City, dragons, Egyptian tomb, etc.

To be totally frank, our 3 year old said during the 2nd day that Hershey Park was much better and he wanted to go there that same day. But for most kids it's a decent alternative to Disney or the San Diego Zoo for Southern CA.

FYI, Volvo is a huge sponsor of Legoland (your kids can drive Volvo Legocars inside the park) -- but a neat sponsorship opportunity is seen where "Preferred Parking Spots" are available only for Volvo vehicles -- so if you have a Volvo, you won't be walking much from the parking lot.

How to Get 10% Off at Home Depot Over and Over Again

One of the best parts of any competitive industry is that the players are just that - competitive.

Here's a shopping tip that will allow you to basically get 10% off of your purchases at Home Depot over and over and over and over again. Of course, this this is helpful since anyone that's doing a home improvement project knows that you'll probably be visiting the Home Depot a couple of times before you finish the job. Little odds and ends that you forgot the first time, exchanges for different sizes or parts, and even going back to buying a new tool or two that you find you actually need to finish the job right can be pretty routine.

There are various ways of getting printable coupons to both the Hope Depot and Lowe's Home Improvement stores on the web. If you do a quick search on Google or eBay, you'll find a couple of options to get and print a coupon.

IT DOESN'T PAY (more than once) TO USE HOME DEPOT COUPONS

If you use a coupon from Home Depot at Home Depot, you'll have to surrender it when you checkout and you won't be able to use it again -- especially if you're using a one-time-use coupone with a serial barcode that gets invalidated after use.

[One last resort for Home Depot coupons is at the post office. Within the "Moving Guide" packet which has the USPS Mail Forwarding form, you'll find a bunch of coupons and other sponsored offers -- Home Depot's 10% for "movers" discount is usually available within that packet. Sometimes it's an actual coupon, other times you'll have to fill out and send back a postcard to request one. Regardless, when you use a Home Depot coupon at Home Depot, you can only use it once.]

TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF LOWES WHEN YOU'RE IN THE HOME DEPOT STORE

But a little known fact by Home Depot shoppers (almost every time I've done this, the person behind me line makes a comment that they never know this) is that they accept competitors' coupons -- including printable coupons off the web. This is the holy grail for cheapo shoppers!

FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS, THEN REPEAT, REPEAT, REPEAT

If you use a Lowes printable coupon from at Home Depot, they have no way of validating the coupon if it's a one-time-use coupon! Which just means that after you get your 10% off at Home Depot, you can head home and just print out another competitor's coupon and use it again the next time you go back to Home Depot. Your only limitation is the expiration date!

The clerks are all usually educated on how to process a competitor's coupon so your checkout is not held up. Even at the self-checkout lanes at Home Depot, I just scan all my items, and then hand the printout to the checkout assistant and they quickly key in the discount so I can finish my transaction at the self-checkout terminal.
And as a bonus, you can still use that coupon at Lowes for yet another purchase.
If you're doing any kind of large home improvement project, this can save you tons of money at the Home Depot.

AAA Discount for Six Flags Admission Tickets

Yes, AAA membership gives you access to discounts to Six Flags Amusement Parks Admission Tickets.

  • Save $4 per person on theme park general admission.
  • Save $12 per person on theme park general admission on Wednesdays.
  • Save $2 per person on general admission to any Six Flags water park.

If you use the link found through the AAA.com website, you can save $3, since the Print-N-Go Ticket feature fee is waived (yahee! Save $3!?!?!).

If you drive to you local AAA office, most of them offer discounted tickets which are at least $15 off admission - so you'll pay $27 for an adult full admission ticket to Six Flags. Call your local AAA office to check before you drive out there.

For the most part, the AAA discount isn't a great deal if you're not a member yet -- the other Six Flags discounts available right now are better. But if you're going to buy a membership anyway, this offer could make the "break even" in your favor.

There's a Reason Why Vonage Is #1

There's a reason why Vonage is the #1 VoIP internet phone company in the market right now.

Although you'd think that there are better, cheaper alternatives, in this case, VoIP *IS* the alternative to begin with to Verizon and other landline telephone lines.

My Verizon landline phone bill comes out to about $41-42 each month. My Vonage line costs me about $18 each month -- which is more than 1/2 off, plus I get more features, including free calls which would be charged if I use our Verizon home phone line.

My suggestion is to start a 2nd phone line with VoIP by signing up for Vonage. After a month or two, if you feel comfortable enough, you can cut the cord of your Verizon telephone line -- there really isn't that much need for a traditional landline phone company anymore.

One big tip with VoIP is to have the phone line plugged into your NID (Network Interface Device) - the grey little box outside your home where the Verizon phone lines currently come in. By doing this, you'll light up all the phone jacks in your house with the Vonage VoIP dial tone and no one will know the difference in the house -- you can use all your existing telephone sets, cordless phones, etc as-is.
